In response to Bluebookbelle’s Bookish Photo A Day Challenge – February 2015 #AWORphotoaday
My favourite cover changes sooooo much! It can depend on the book I’m reading at the time, a book from the past, a book I’d like to read, a book I’ve seen someone else reading!, a book I’ve spotted in a book shop…so hard to choose a favourite cover!!!
Well, I’m going to have to go with this one.
All Cheeses Great & Small
A Life Less Blurry
I bought this book in May 2014 from Barter Books, Northumberland UK. I was drawn to the cover for the obvious reason that there is a chicken (might even be a cockerel) on Alex’s head!
Alex James is the bass player from Blur, so I knew who it was, and I’ve read his other book ‘A Bit Of A Blur’ Where A Bit Of A Blur tells of Alex’s crazy life with Blur from fledgling band to global super group and all the trappings of excess therein, this book puts the brakes firmly on. Well at least on the music world. This book gives us an insight as to what the successful rock musician does next – when he’s got his head screwed on!
Buy a farm in the Cotswolds, fix the buildings, fix the boundary fences, get some sheep, get some pigs, make and market your own cheese, have loads of kids, invite all your swanky famous friends round and (organise an annual festival – with Jamie Oliver and said friends!)
It’s Such a good read as Alex is an amazing writer. His descriptions of this new life for him and his family are rich, evocative, poignant, hilarious and beautifully written.
