Bookish Photo A Day Challenge – February 2015: 6. Mother Character.

In response to Bluebookbelle’s Bookish Photo A Day Challenge – February 2015 #AWORphotoaday

For my mother character, I’m going to choose a hen!  Sprout.  From:

The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly

by Sun-Mi Hwang

hen

I read this book recently and really it really moved me.

Despite being the story of a hen who is rescued from the brink of death, befriends a mallard, fends off a weasel, hatching an egg, (which wasn’t hers), and facing prejudices and heartache – the underlying messages of loyalty, resilience, sacrifice & perseverance of a mother are ever-present.

…It does have a sad end, but in lovely poignant way.

A must for your bookshelf.

  2. The vocal recording sessions for the new NIGHTWISH album, "Imaginarium", were recently postponed until April 4 in order to allow the band’s singer, Anette Olzon, a longer recovery period after she suffered broken ribs in a fall. Was this answer helpful?
